Otile Brown Shuts Down Claims He Used Brian Chira’s Funeral To Promote New Album
Sensational Kenyan singer Otile Brown on Tuesday, March 26, honoured his promise to perform at the late TikToker Brian Chira’s funeral.
The musician who had earlier noted that he would not mind attending and even performing at Chira’s funeral touched the hearts of many people with his kind gesture.
It should be noted the late Chira was one of Otile Brown’s biggest fans and actually loved his hit song One Call.
To honour his memory, Otile showed up at Chira’s funeral held in Kiambu county where he joined other mourners in giving the late a befitting sendoff.
Otile’s attendance and performance at Brian Chira’s funeral endeared him to many Kenyans who thronged different social media platforms to laud him on end.
However, a section of netizens had alternative opinions over Otile Brown’s move.
Quite a multitude of critics called out the musician for allegedly hijacking Chira’s funeral to promote his recently-released album Grace.
According to countless people who bashed Otile, the star wanted to attract clout and use it to propel his album with his attendance and performance.
Others claimed he intentionally arrived late for the funeral so that he could steal the show, allegations Otile Brown denied vehemently.
Speaking during an interview with KOM moments after the burial, Otile shut down the claims holding that he had the option of not attending the funeral.
According to Otile, he had no reason to use Chira’s funeral to promote his new album since it was the late TikToker’s fans and his very own who begged him to attend.
The musician insisted that he attended the funeral and even performed One Call to pay his respect to Chira because he was one of his loyal fans.
The star noted that he had to perform One Call because it was late Brian Chira’s favourite song.
Otile noted that there was no way he was promoting his album using a song that is not included in the said Grace album.
