Luckily, the two songstresses managed to secure mjengo jobs on different construction sites where they worked hard for their money.
According to Ella, they decided to go mjengo way because of lack of support from fans, producers and other stakeholders.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with KOM.co.ke, Ella disclosed they felt it was wise to look for their own money for their projects instead of getting used, sexually and otherwise by people who had promised to help them with their music careers.
The Kenyan Girl and Ashley did not stop at that; the two even went as far as working at different carwash spots just but to make money for their upcoming projects.
“You know right now things are tight. And no one can easily help anyone. So we decided to hit mjengo sites looking for work so as to raise money for studio fees. In fact, we’ve also worked at different carwash spots all in a bid to raise funds for production. “ Ella said.
