Y254 TV: DJ Kuch Gives Competitors Run For Their Money As He Takes Over Local TV Scene
Making a name or building a brand as a Kenyan deejay has never been a walk in the park, this many mixx masters can tell you for free.
However, several disc jockeys have managed to cut a niche for themselves in the much competitive deejaying industry and Y254 TV’s main man DJ Kuch is not an exceptional.
Ever since his debut on the KBC-owned channel, DJ Kuch has been winning hearts and accolades as he entertains his fans and viewers through Y-Mashariki.
KOM.co.ke understands Y-Mashariki is hosted by Kenrelbis and Kalondu Musyimi, with DJ Kuch holding it down on the decks like the real pro he is.
Well, the entertainer did not become a national star overnight.
This writer understands the mixx master has been in the game for many years and has horned his skills by entertaining music lovers in popular clubs, radio and TV stations.
Hailing from Nairobi, Kenya, DJ Kuch whose real name is Joseph Kuria Wanjiru started his career just like many other deejays.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with KOM.co.ke, Kuch disclosed that he started by playing for his friends and family memvers at parties.
His star shone in 2012 when he ventured fully into deejaying.
Unlike many deejays, DJ Kuch curved a niche for himself as an open format deejay, meaning he could and still can play any music genre
From old school to contemporary RnB , Hip-Hop, Pop, Reggae, House, Rock, Afrobeat, And and Disco, DJ Kuch has been a master of all.
Prior to his debut on TV, the entertainer used to mixx at different clubs and special events in Nairobi and it’s environs, attracting quite a number of fans while at it.
In the club scene, Kuch has been the resident deejay for countless hottest bars, clubs n lounges in Nairobi such as Seven D, Hornil Bill, Paris Lounge, Brew Bistro lounges, Black Diamond to name just a few.
It should be noted that the deejay has shown diversity in his career by also engaging, rather working with different artistes such as Otile Brown, Kenrazy, Wakali Wao among others.
To prove that indeed he is a force to reckon with, the entertainer made a debut in the media space by bagging mixxing jobs at different radio station in Kenya such as Q FM, Easy FM, and he is currently working at Y254 TV, which is an affiliate of KBC.
At the National Broadcaster, DJ Kuch thrills fans with hottest mixx on a magazine show dubbed Y-Mashariki.
DJ Kuch also runs his own entertainment company named Back to Back Entertainment, where he provides all kind of entertainer services; from deejaying services and sound system provision for different events to mentoring new generations of deejays through his deejaying academy.
